Ribéry Open To United Move

The Franck Ribéry saga is back on. One of the most boring and protracted transfer stories of recent years still won't go away as it looks like the French star deeply regrets ever joining Bayern Munich when he could have picked any of Europe's top clubs instead of the failing Bundesliga giants.

Ribéry will be out of contract next summer and the vultures are circling while Bayern grow increasingly frustrated with the constant uncertainty surrounding their star man. His agent is open about their aims though: he wants to sell Ribéry to one of the top clubs.

"There are no doors closed, not that of Real Madrid, or Barca, or Manchester United," the agent said.

"At the beginning of March we will make a decision and then see."

To be honest, I just put it in here as a sort of appetizer, if you like. It's very unlikely that we'll ever make a move for Ribéry who would cost silly money at 27 years old which is not good business, especially for an injury-prone player and for a debt-laden club. But it's fun to mention that Migliaccio somehow failed to add Manchester City to the list of the desirable destinations. Wonder why is that?

I really hope we dont buy him. £15M or less and it would be something to think about, but with the stupid money Bayern were talking about last time - I just hope we aren't somehow tempted. At 27 there is no real evidence of him consistently performing at the highest level. Turkey, France and Germany is where he's played his league football; only really staying at munich for more than 5 minutes because they have forced him too. Other than that, he comes across as a mido/anelka charachter - constantly moaning about wanting to move on. For someone who is supposedly valued at the Kaka level, his list of personal achievements seems rather short. Great players usually carry a team and his teams havent really won much. I really dont think this guy is that good, let alone what we need right now.

I find it strange that his agent only listed those three clubs yet the man himself had this to say: ""Last season, I had many possibilities with Manchester United, Real, Barcelona or Chelsea. I hope I'll have the same ones plus Bayern next summer."" Weird how his agent conveniently seemed to leave one club out, isn't it?

Not worth a tenth of the ridiculous price bayern would want for him. He's a decent player at best but he seems to be a lousy person by he way he constantly gets his manager to talk about leaving the club.

We dont need or want him at OT - not worth money that Bayern want - only way I could see him coming is if Berba was offered in a swap deal where we got money as well

"We dont need or want him at OT - not worth money that Bayern want - only way I could see him coming is if Berba was offered in a swap deal where we got money as well" You actually think that Berbatov is worth more than Ribery? My god that's dillusional to a level i have not seen nor heard in a long time...

So True, there was a time when the world was drooling at his feet & he chose munich of all places,Why? The cuisine? Fashion? Ridiculous.I guess the door's closed on chelsea.Dont see him fitting in at barca,After the spree I dont think he wants madrid so you guys are in prime position.Go for the berba swop + cash.

LamparDrogbAnelKalou - yes I am for real - Berba is worth more than Ribery - I mean what has Ribery actually done recently for Bayern compared to Berba
niteworlok
Ribery is constantly injured. This is why any club shouldn't spend what Bayern wants. To argue that he's no better when fit than Berbatov is asinine. When fit, I think he's worth the hype. Question is, would you invest tons of money in a player who might not ever play? Me neither.

well dont know about him but we DESPERATELY need a LM
