O'Shea Out For The Rest Of The Season

Can you believe it? All the problems we've had in the back four are just not easing. Ferdinand and Vidic are still not back and now it turns out that we won't John O'Shea on the pitch again this season.

'He's got a terrible injury at the moment,' Sir Alex said in the Irish Independent.

'It's one of those sorts of injuries that are unusual. It's like a dead leg except a dead leg is usually only three or four days.

'The problem is that the blood clot became all knotted and when it gets knotted you get calcification so therefore it's a long process to clear that up and he'll probably miss the season now.

'It's a bad blow for the boy and for the team because he can play anywhere.

'When you look at all the problems I've had with the back four this season, he could have played every single one.'

Which means that Gary Neville will certainly play a lot of games this season which means that we're screwed... Please, let Rio and Vidic return so we'll have Brown and Rafael for the right-back position, please. Oh, and please God, keep Evra and Fabio fit so that we won't need cover at left-back.

O'Shea is not the most talented player of course but Fergie is right: he can play just about anywhere and that's why he's been sorely missed and he'll be desperately missed in the latter stages of the campaign.

Make no mistake about this player,he is a lot more important to our team than people think and his absence is surely our loss.
