Regrettably, Vieira Won't Play Against Us

Well, unfortunately, City signing Patrick Vieira won't play against us tomorrow, despite the FA bending the rules for Citeh to be able to include the Frenchman who has been signed after the original date of the first leg which should render him ineligible.

'It's better for us and for him if he can be ready to play in another week or 10 days,' Roberto Mancini said.

'Its better that we don't risk his situation because I would like that when Patrick comes back, he can play to the end of the season. I would want him to be ready to play 20 games, I would prefer him to come back after the next game or for the return match against United.'

Shame. He's way past it, as demonstrated with Inter on ample occasions so he would have been unlikely to present a major threat to our chances of reaching our second consecutive Carling Cup final. And it's always nice to see old hostilities resurrected, even though Roy Keane has long since moved on.
