Nani Goes Nowhere... Not Now, Anyway

There is a silver lining for Nani, even now: he might still make it at Old Trafford. Granted, after publicly criticising Fergie and generally failing to show any progress whatsoever you would rate his chances pretty lowly but hey, he'll have roughly five more months for him to change everything: his agent believes he won't be sold in January.

"There are always links and stories about Nani, but I am sure that he will not leave Manchester United in January," Jorge Mendes told Goal.com.

"In the summer? Maybe, after the World Cup. But, at the moment this would be too difficult and he will not leave Manchester. Any talk of a move will have to wait.'

Nani: bags of skill, good pace, fine crossing. Nani: frustrating inconsistency, alarming lack of intelligence. Which is the real Nani? Unfortunately, it appears that both and it is very unlikely that we can get the tendency to infuriate out of his system in a mere five months. But here's hoping that the spring, the rebirth of Nature will also herald the rebirth of the Nani of 2007/08 - a player of genuine potential, a fine wide attacker who can cut it at the highest level.

I think he'll end up in the Forlan mould. A good player who was unable to show his best at United. I still hope he might prove me wrong, but some of the mistakes he makes are unbelievable at times.

What can I say about him.At times the best and at times the worst. But there is no need to sell him in jan.Right now no one will even pay 5million for him, even in this transfer market.
Antriksh (abmtd)
cost an absolute fortune, and initially I thought he would be one of the greats as usually buy players of class, but recently they have paid over the odds for just average players. The really decent ones have been stolen by Real madrid, in their bid to make la liga the best in the world, but all they will achieve is that madrid and barca will make it just a two league club and thats no fun for any fan.

It happens - I for one thought this was going to be a great player for you. Shows how much I know.
BlueWolfie
Oh well maybe he'll have a good world cup and we can recoup alot of the money lost on him. its a shame though really he started so brightly, if only he learnt not to try so hard and play a little more directly. He has all the skills to be a great player but he unforunately at times lacks the intelligence to make the right decisions.

Perhaps fergie just doesn't know how to get the best out of him? It's happened with Tevez & Berbatov, so maybe Nani simply doesn't fit into fergie's style of playing?

I bet Fergie finds some way to blame Nani's poor performances on the referees. Isn't it always their fault when you don's get three point? Hahaha. I previous years you have had a better team, and have lost fewer matches....it could be excused when he blamed the ref for losing then......but now??? You lose far too many points, and he won't admit it is your players, they simply arenęt good enough :) Glad you are not buying btw :p

JT_daniel- dont you think you are being slightly over the top I mean he is one of the most decorated managers of all time
khoder
Has JT_Daniel's comment been removed? Can't see what Khoder is responding to!

glad Nani is going nowhere! He sort of sums up how far the mighty are falling!
merlin
I thought you were more sensible than that merlin. I think JT_daniel said Fergie sucks or should be sacked - something stupid no doubt.

Interesting reading from the FT regarding the Glazer's refinancing strategy. In the old days they'd just call it rape and pillage. http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/b4fa4e7e-fea9-11de-91d7-00144feab49a.html?ftcamp=rss&nclick_check=1
