Ruud: 'I Expected More This Season'

Ruud: 'I Expected More This Season'

Ruud van Nistelrooy has added fuel to the flames by admitted it has been another disappointing season for the Dutchman.

Van Nistelrooy: 'There is still a massive part of the season to complete because second place is important to us.

'But looking back, this season has been disappointing overall.

'Everyone knows expectations at this club are high but that is something we have to deal with. We have had to deal with it over the last couple of years and we have to do so again.

'The Sunderland and Middlesbrough performances were both disappointing. We have had two goalless draws in a row at home now, so we have to do better against Charlton.

'It is their manager's last match, which should help raise their game, and they have nothing to lose, so they will probably be able to play quite freely.

'But we have to handle that and make sure we get those three points.'
