Evra: We Should Have Won By Five Or Six

Patrice Evra voiced what I also feel: that we should have scored more goals against Wolves yesterday. United missed a hatful of chances before going ahead in the 30th minute via a Wayne Rooney penalty but we did not try hard enough to improve our goal difference which is inferior to Chelsea's (and Arsenal's as well).

'I was not happy to only score three goals,' said Evra.

'We respect Wolves but we should have done better.

'The goal difference is important and, in a game like that, we should have won by five or six.'

And not just because the simple maths. Winning by big margins gives confidence and momentum which can be very important. Last season one of my main gripes was that we all too often settled for 1-0 or 2-0, going for a safe and dull approach. If you do that, teams will come to your ground and think they can get something - and one must admit that it does not look like as if teams are still afraid of coming to Old Trafford. That's something we should rectify.

If Rooney doesn't get his shooting boots on soon, we are going to need a proper striker by the summer. I am not sure Berba, Rooney and Owen are striking fear in any defense right now.

After the villa loss,we just had to get back to the basics.

Agree with above post, at the moment points are the most important thing. Not looking forward to the Fulham game, Hodgson has worked wonders there and not sure what our back line will be. Thankfully theres a full 8 days between that and the hull game which hopefully should see some of our injured back line return!
