Tosic Still Not Giving Up

Zoran Tosic still believes he's got a future at Old Trafford - even though the club pulled the plug on the deal that would have brought his more talented mate Adem Ljajic to England.

'Sir Alex has a big squad to choose from and there is a lot of quality in the first team, so I know it's not easy for me. I have to look at the Carling Cup and the FA Cup as perhaps my chance to show what I can do and prove myself to the manager.'

Thing is, Tosic has yet to start a competitive game this season and he only got a few minutes as a substitute in the Carling Cup. Nothing indicates that his situation will chance: after all, we have the increasingly promising Obertan, we have Park who, Sir Alex assured, would play an important part in the season, we have Valencia who is getting better and better and we have Giggs who is in great form once again. Even Nani is ahead of Tosic so there's little hope for the young Serbian.

Although at least he can be grateful that Ravel Morrison is only 16...

I agree with avfc.I hope he gets a chance before he is shipped off.If we could djemba-djemba,bellion amd kleberson a chance then surely this guy deserves one as well.Plus he has always done well for Serbia.Hopefully a good world cup might change his fortunes.

He hasn't adapted to the english football but he will be okay in a year..

He's a great player what I've seen of him I've been really impressed with I'm not sure why he isnt given more chances though he's definately better than Nani and could be as good as Obertan if he were given a chance.

I honestly don't see a future for Tosic. You don't pay £7 million for someone whos an international and play him less than 90 minutes over 5 sub appearances. I do hope I'm proven wrong but it does not look promising. Hell, even Djemba-Djemba got more of a chance than this kid.

Thought you only signed him in order to lure Ljajic to the club, and that Ljajic was the true star of the two? Never seen either of them play, but that's what the general consensus seems to be amongst my red mates. Did you get the raw end of tthe deal on this one, or is Ljajic as pants as Phelan said?

Work Permit apparently. Who knows with transfers these days undisclosed fees and everything. Our club is so secretive about matters off the pitch its hard to believe anything until it actually happens.
