Gary Neville In Agreement With Liverpool Captain

Gary Neville In Agreement With Liverpool Captain

'You get what you deserve in football': that was Steven Gerrard's summary after learning about Fiorentina's win over Lyon which relegated Liverpool to the Europa League. Apparently, he wasn't in the mood to rage against the injustice of football but, I must admit, swallowed the bitter pill with dignity.

Gary Neville, when asked about it, expressed his agreement with Gerrard's sentiments, declaring that Liverpool just haven't done enough to get through.

'As a team, you get what you deserve don't you?' he said.

'We are where we are because we deserve to be there and it's the same with Liverpool.

'We went out ourselves a few years back. They just haven't performed well enough in the Champions League to get the results.'

It is interpreted as a 'blast' in the media; you can see for yourself whether it was a blast or a simple, honest assessment, with the acknowledgement of our own failures back in 2005.

Still waiting for one. Just one. One of you big boys to take my bet. Surely there's one pair of balls shared between every single Chelsea and United fan on this site?!?!
