Hargreaves Still Not Ready

Owen Hargreaves is still not back in full training. He's been out for more than a year now and though he was expected to be available at the start of November, he's still probably weeks away.

'He is training very well,' Sir Alex said.

'It is more of a confidence thing for the lad to come back into real full training with us. He is doing real good work for the physios but not at a competitive level at the moment.

'Having been out for a year and two months we are of the mind that take our time and don't rush it.'

The last exact date Fergie mentioned was December 8: the Champions League game at Wolfsburg. Looks like that was a way too optimistic estimation: it might be 2010 when we next see Hargreaves in action...

I really am starting to feel like we spent millions on a doctors note, come on Hargo some time this year please.

He was worth the price for his contributions to the 207/08 campaign alone.

2007/08, obviously - he did little to stop the visigoths or the huns.

I'm just fed up of the injury saga is all

Guess, if there's a chance of recovery, he is one of the few players who would be worth the wait. He would add so much to the team!

Yes-2010,I would be plesantly surprised to see him back before that.

Who would Hargreaves replace in your midfield? He's a predominantly defensive midfielder isn't he? So essentially, he and Fletcher would be vying for the same spot, unless sralex decides to play with two DM's. Thought Fletcher was your best midfielder at the moment, so who would you drop if Hargreaves does return to full fitness?

Think we would play a 4-2-3-1, in CL games if both played. And Hargo makes a wayyyy better right winger than Nani. His free kicks and experience are an asset to any team.
