Rooney Facing An Uphill Struggle

Rooney Facing An Uphill Struggle

Mixed news on the injury front: Patrice Evra is almost certain to be fit for Sunday's crunch game at Anfield, Ryan Giggs and Darren Fletcher have a good chance while Wayne Rooney is a major doubt.

"We`re fighting to get Rooney ready," Sir Alex said.

"It`s a bit of an uphill fight but we`re trying.

"With Giggs it`s difficult to say with the injury he has… and Fletcher`s a slight doubt. He picked up a knock on international duty. But we hope to get the main players ready for Sunday because it`s a big game.'

That means we have a chance that all four will be fit - which is of course crucial if we want to defeat Liverpool. Not sure that's advisable though - we might lose Rafa!

Come now, in the world of Fergie mind games do you seriously think Rooney won't be fit? I'm sure he'll make a miraculous recovery and be the first name on the team sheet. With Rooney you should batter the scousers, without him they might just be in the mood to take you apart.
