Hargreaves Wants Six Or Eight More Years At United

Hargreaves Wants Six Or Eight More Years At United

Owen Hargreaves never gave up the hope of returning to the pitch and helping United again. The former Bayern man had an excellent debut season, contributing significantly to United's historic Double of Premier League and Champions League glory.

After spending most of the next season on the sidelines, Hargreaves is nearing a long-awaited comeback and believes he will have a lot to offer to the club, and not just for this season.

'It is difficult to say an exact date but I do feel I can see light at the end of the tunnel now,' he told the Manchester Evening News

'Coming back to Manchester was a big step. Having people from United around me also makes me realise I am getting closer.

'I am coming back to have a massive effect and to play well and for us to win titles. It is not about getting back for one game or for one day, I want to come back and be back for another six or eight years.

'I have thought about playing again a lot. It is human nature to have doubts obviously. I had little moments but I never had one moment of major doubt that I'd be back.'

Insiders at the club insisted that Hargreaves' knees are completely cured, that the specialist treatment did the trick. Whether it's true remains to be seen but the return of Hargreaves is something we can very much look forward to.

That's a lot of money to warm the bench. Great player in his day, but will he ever get "IT" back?

He'd better get on that waiting list for a season ticket at the swamp now then as he'll probably end up retiring in the next year or 2 and he wants to stay for 6 to 8 more years!
09/10/2009 19:07:00
Waiting list? There was no waiting list this season, as I know someone who managed to get a ST at the swamp in late August just by phoning the ticket office. Must be the way they hold a gun to their fans' heads and force them to buyy tickets for cup matches they don't want to see.

best midfielder we got
10/10/2009 21:50:00
Well you can't have too many decent options if you think that he is quality!
11/10/2009 13:00:00
Well he's better than Barry, who's your best midfielder, so what does that say about the City midfield? What a naive post by the Brazilian/Portuguese wannabe Kevin-ho.

Kevinho? Don't you mean schizophrenio One United 92.

Our midfield is the only one in the EPL to house an entire Welsh holiday resort; yes, that's right, Barry Ireland. BoomBoom! And that is why we bought him, because we are the Great Entertainers!

Michael Owen Hargeaves, the first name in unreliability!
