Will Anderson Score 10 Goals This Season?

Sir Alex predicted that if Anderson finally broke his duck he would go on to score 10 goals in a season. The boss had argued, before the current campaign started, that Anderson had the talent, the technique, the finishing skills and the pace to score goals, and it's only a matter of good fortune and confidence.

As you probably all know, Anderson got his first goal on Saturday, ramming it home with his left foot at White Hart Lane. It was a classy and important goal and a surprisingly reserved celebration to go with it. The big wait is over but what next?

The ideal scenario is that Anderson blossoms, gaining the confidence necessary to rediscover his form of 2007/08. I believe this will happen, and will happen soon, though it's true that he's way too young to expect consistency from him - that's one of Fergie's regular mantras but it's absolutely true.

And I actually think that the boss' prediction of 10 goals might not be as wild as it sounds. If Anderson takes on more responsibilities, if he joins the attacks more often there's no reason why he couldn't go on to score them. Oh, and he should be given a few free-kicks as well, even though Giggs, Nani and Rooney plan to share them, as far as I'm aware.

There is every chance he can and as u said if he can join the attacks more often and stay close to the opposition's box, then yes why not? There was a time when he looked more of a defensive midfielder and I hope he starts tonight alongside fletcher who I feel can bring the best out of him as fletch can look after the defensive duties and free andy to concentrate on attack only.

I hope so. Hopefully this will give him confidence now and we'll spread goals around the team :) we're looking good so hopefully we can prove we weren't a one-man team.

No reason for him not to and he has now got the confidence from his first to motivate him. I would love it if he went above and beyond and hit 15+ goals, you never know.

Anderson should definately take some free kicks. He scored a fantastic one against Boca.
