Gigg Lane Booked By FC United

FC United, the club formed my rebel Manchester United supporters, have agreed to extend their stay at Gigg Lane for another three years.

They play in the North West Counties League and were launched last summer following Malcolm Glazer's takeover of Manchester United.

The club has proved to be a spectacular success and their average crowd of just below 3,000 is higher than that of their landlords Bury FC.

They lifted the Division Two trophy on Saturday afternoon, and more than 6,000 watched their defeat by Great Harwood Town.
