'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Rooney Pays Off Debts

Wayne Rooney had the whole country asking the question 'should footballers gamble?', but he has now resolved his 'outstanding issues'.

The Manchester United star reportedly ran up a debt of some 700,000, but company Goldchip said that, after talks with Rooney's management, the matter was 'now closed'.

Goldchip: 'Following recent press stories Goldchip is pleased to state that outstanding issues between the company and Wayne Rooney have now been fully resolved as a result of talks between Stephen Smith and Paul Stretford of Proactive Sports Management.

'The matter is now closed and there will be no further comment.'
