Owen Hargreaves To Surpass Our Wildest Dreams

Sir Alex Ferguson claimed that Owen Hargreaves could return as early as the beginning of September which would be a glorious surprise. The 28-year-old midfielder played only three games for United last season because of a chronic knee injury and there were rumours that setbacks after the operations he had undergone would keep him out of action until January.

However, Fergie had good news for us: 'He's completing his rehab in America.

'We`re happy with his rehab and we`re in complete control of that. We`re roughly looking at the beginning of September for him, depending on how he reacts and how he progresses.'

A cliché, yes, but it would be like a new signing. He was desperately missed last season and would add much-needed steel and bite to our midfield.

Come on Hargo lad, have it, this is the best piece of news for ages....top player and a fit hargo can steady the ship for real. This would be like a new signing if he makes it back (fingers crossed).

One of Fergie's poorer signings. Never understoond the fascination with Hargreaves.

totally disagree with u samboney, he was missed last season he is a good player and one that makes a difference when he does play.

Good news. Hargreaves is a good hard working pro, he has just been unlucky, it will be good to have a tenacious ball winner back.

May be why we didn't buy a midfielder...

What's the betting he plays three games for you, gets crocked again and then announces his retirement? Fantastic player, but God Bayern REALLY saw you coming on that one!

Hargo,I seriously hope your back. This guy can not only provide protection to the defenders but can also deliver some good crosses and take free kicks as well.

best midfielder we got imo, when fit he should be the first player on the team sheet in midfield. we missed him alot last season, especially against barca

i totally agree, was over the moon when he signed pity he's been injured for most of the time here :( so frustrating, have to agree him being the best midfielder manu have, if he had played almost every game over the past 2 years i think we would have seen a better team. hope he doesnt waste anymore of his career being injured!

Yes yes yes. Hargreaves would be fantastic if only he stays free of injury... Carrick, Anderson and Hargreaves (not necessarily all at once) are terrific for the midfield. I know we'd have lost anyway in all probability cos United were terrible and Barcelona amazing, but would our midfield have been so dominated had Hargreaves played in the final (since that was where it was lost and won?) Just wondering...
