Diouf To Join United In January

I must admit I got a heart attack when I first saw the news that Diouf will sign for Manchester United. Getting Michael Owen was a kind of kick in the teeth but getting El-Hadji Diouf would have been a full scale disaster.

Fortunately, it is another Diouf: Mame Biram Diouf. No, I haven't heard of him either but apparently he scored 17 goals in 21 league games this season for Molde in Norway and scoring for fun in the shirt of Molde sounds familiar for me...

'We`ve been looking at him for two years,' Sir Alex said.

'We weren't intending on signing anyone else after last week - we feel we have a full squad - but the situation accelerated to a point where other clubs started to make bids, so we had a decision to make.

'We decided to act now and he`ll be the last person we sign this summer.'

So he's the last. No Douglas Costa, no midfielders, just a promising striker. He's 21, quick, tall and strong but we won't see him in the red shirt before January because he'll spend the remainder of the Norwegian league season on loan at Molde.

I haven't heard much about him either but from a few youtube clips,he looks like a good header of the ball.Ofcourse the premier league is a different ball game but at 21 he has time to improve.

This guy is much more promising than Manucho.
