Our Best Wishes To Cristiano Ronaldo

Our Best Wishes To Cristiano Ronaldo

Today Cristiano Ronaldo has officially become a Real Madrid player as the Spanish club paid the Ł80m transfer fee. With this day ends an alliance that spanned six years and brought about glory, fantastic football and countless honours.

Sir Alex Ferguson chose this day to thank Ronaldo for his amazing contribution and wish him well for the future.

'Cristiano has been a marvellous player for Manchester United,' he said.

'His six years at Old Trafford have seen him develop into the best footballer in the world.

'His contribution has been a major factor in the club's success in that time and his talent, his ability to entertain and his infectious personality have enthralled fans the world over.

'Everyone here wishes him well in his future career.'

Fergie handled this issue with class and dignity. It's Ronaldo's turn to come out with a 'thank you' to the fans and the manager, in order to ensure his departure doesn't leave a bitter taste in anyone's mouth.

Good on him, he did, and also said that he expected United to win the League for many years to come and that Rooney was their best player (though how much he really meant...)
