Valencia Is In Manchester

Sky Sports report that Antonio Valencia is in Manchester for a medical and he's set to complete his switch from Wigan today. The fee is said to be around 16 million.

If it's true then United are very close to their first signing of the summer. Not an unexpected one and not one to set the pulses racing but at least a quick, tricky, direct attacker will arrive which we certainly need.

It may not set the pulses racing but he is surely a strong signing, all we have to hope is that this guy gells into our team and if that happens all the doubters will know why Sir Alex bought him.

I would prefer 3 solid signings anyday over one big name signing,it makes the overall squad much more stronger,so Valencia u r welcomed to old trafford from my side. Now to our next target.

I'm convinced that he'll be quality. I think he'll have Nani's skills, Parks work rate and Ronaldos consistency. He won't set the scoring charts alight but will certainly take some of the defensive pressures off of Rooney. If this is pretty much done, I'm hoping Ashley Young is one of fergies next targets.

tuscan3000, have to agree. If we have ticked Valencia off, and get Young, with just one more striker (or even possibly could manage without the striker part) i think we could do very well again this season and would be quite excited with the team.

Wesley Sneijder,Doudlas Costa,Benzema, that ***** would make my day!combined with Valencia that would be a substantially strengthened squad, have always rated Sneijder,he's the kind of quality no nonsense all round skilled midfeilder that we lacked against Barcelona!!Not so sure about Aguera, seems a lot of money for a big risk, not sure if Benzema wants to come to utd so that may be the end of that.

Benzema, Robben /Sneijder, and Silva plus a fit again Hargreaves and I'd be happy
