Valencia Is In Manchester

Sky Sports report that Antonio Valencia is in Manchester for a medical and he's set to complete his switch from Wigan today. The fee is said to be around 16 million.

If it's true then United are very close to their first signing of the summer. Not an unexpected one and not one to set the pulses racing but at least a quick, tricky, direct attacker will arrive which we certainly need.

welcome to United))
Leonax
It may not set the pulses racing but he is surely a strong signing, all we have to hope is that this guy gells into our team and if that happens all the doubters will know why Sir Alex bought him.
abmtd
I would prefer 3 solid signings anyday over one big name signing,it makes the overall squad much more stronger,so Valencia u r welcomed to old trafford from my side. Now to our next target.
abmtd
Any idea when his transfer can be confirmed by both the clubs?
abmtd
'direct attacker will arrive which we certainly need' which you certainly need are you joking your the best team in the world you dont need anyone but hey i would rither valencia go to u than rather than real madrid so good look valencia and i hope you win the title next year ( well unless wigan win it lol) not liverepool

I'm convinced that he'll be quality. I think he'll have Nani's skills, Parks work rate and Ronaldos consistency. He won't set the scoring charts alight but will certainly take some of the defensive pressures off of Rooney. If this is pretty much done, I'm hoping Ashley Young is one of fergies next targets.

tuscan3000, have to agree. If we have ticked Valencia off, and get Young, with just one more striker (or even possibly could manage without the striker part) i think we could do very well again this season and would be quite excited with the team.
Man utd champions
Wesley Sneijder,Doudlas Costa,Benzema, that ***** would make my day!combined with Valencia that would be a substantially strengthened squad, have always rated Sneijder,he's the kind of quality no nonsense all round skilled midfeilder that we lacked against Barcelona!!Not so sure about Aguera, seems a lot of money for a big risk, not sure if Benzema wants to come to utd so that may be the end of that.
jot3000
Benzema, Robben /Sneijder, and Silva plus a fit again Hargreaves and I'd be happy
Kanchelskis
sneijder and huntelaar, should have been part of the agreement in selling ronaldo.
ryu00
would have rather Luis Suarez or Alexis Sanchez but oh well.
Paulinho
tuscan3000,I don't think A.Young will be coming,it looks very unlikely. No news about him at all.
abmtd
Yeah, abmtd. Its just wishful thinking on my part at the moment; but surely Fergie must recognise that he is the only quality english winger? I'd rather have him than Aguero or some other big foreign name.
tuscan3000
I totally agree mate.If we can't sign him this summer may be we can try for him next summer,if nani doesn't fulfil his potential.I seriously hope he proves me wrong.Nani this is your chance I hope u grab it.
abmtd
If Nani doesnt step it up this season he will likely leave next summer.
Paulinho
No news, abmtd (though it has been flirted around a bit) but not necessarily key - remember Henrik Larsson??
Man utd champions
Yes. Nani disappointed this season (as did Anderson initially before regaining his form) so hopefully he can really step it up this season, particularly with Ronaldo gone.
Man utd champions
Valenica seems to be on his way (hopefully), if we can just get Benzema and (however unlikely) bid for Ashley Young that would suit me down to the ground. I think those three signings would really complete our squad.
Man utd champions
Valencias a done deal! Bring on Benzema by the end of the week I say!
