Carlos Tevez Is Leaving Manchester United

Sky Sports report that Carlos Tevez has still not made up his mind about leaving United even though earlier rumours stated that he had all but agreed a switch to Citeh.

Well, on this front I'm inclined to believe that Sky got it wrong: I can't see Tevez staying at United. We can debate whether it's good news or not but the signs point to his exit.

His behaviour over the last few weeks was little short of a disgrace, what with his appeals to the fans - who played their part like ignorant sheep, I should add - and his public comments about United. He must have seriously displeased Fergie who, to my astonishment, apparently still tried to do everything to prevent him from leaving.

The speculation that Tevez wants guarantees of a regular first-team place won't go away: it seems he indeed believes that he's been mistreated and that he should start every big game - so he's still not pleased, despite twice starting against Liverpool and against Arsenal as well.

The writing's been on the wall for a long time now and I believe Tevez is only waiting for MSI's permission to sign for Manchester City. Joorabchian and co. might be debating whether our neighbours have a sufficiently high profile so that Tevez could still generate sufficient income from marketing as well but I don't think it will stand in a way of a deal.

Tevez, I'm quite certain, has made up his mind. Good luck to him.

It's your loss and Man City's gain. That's where I suspect he'll go, and if I'm right he'll form a dangerous partnership with Robinho. Money talks...

money talks most of the time not all the time!

As a personality, I really admire tevez, as a £30M+ footballer, he sucks! I would happily see him stay for less money (£5M to £8M on top of the £10M we already paid) but even if he does, he is firmly behind rooney and berbatov in terms of talent and contribution; and to be honest with every game they play, welbeck and macheda are getting closer to stealing his spot. How a reasonable man can demand £100,000+ a week and a guaranteed starting spot based on a 5 goal league haul is beyond me! I really hope he leaves!

Whats the idiot haigh laughing about? And I don't think its neccesarily our loss because as much as he did score some crucial goals, he wasn't banging them in. I wouldn't mind him going to Citeh and its better than him going to the other forgotten club in the Northwest. We won't buy Benzema or Ribery but I'm still really excited about the players we can bring in!

FU, would you have won the title without Tevez? Would you have won 5-2 against Spuds, if it were not for the energy he brought with him at half time? Dont fool yourself. He's been a real impact player for your squad, which will be remarkably weakened with the departures of Ickle Ronnie and Tevez.

I want Tevez to stay, because I like him a lot, but if we sign someone else and play Rooney upfront, we could cope without him. I'm undecided on this one so just going to see what happens... and JT_daniel, yes. Tevez was brilliant that day and lifted the team when he came on. But who was MOTM that day? Who scored two goals? A certain Mr Wayne Rooney who needs to be restored to the front. Tevez has been good for us this season, but since Berbatov's arrival he's deteriorated (perhaps partly due to a lack of chances and the break-up of the partnership with Rooney that looked so promising). I now sort of wish Berbatov had never come; that we'd just kept Tevez and Rooney together, and with Campbell not going out on loan, and Macheda and Welbeck, i think we'd have been fine. But, whatever happens, and I'll be sad to see Tevez go if he does leave, I still think United will do very well this season.
Man utd champions
Everyone loved Alan Smith because he ran around like a headless chicken with bulldog attitude, the same can be said of Tevez to a certain extent. We need a goal machine in the same mould as RVN, maybe Villa or what about that buy back clause for Rossi??

JT - We couldn't have won the title without our entire first team! Why will we be remarkably weakened? You havent seen the players we'll bring in, neither have you seen how our team will play. You're making assumptions on our team based on things you saw LAST season! Tevez is a great player but there are better wouldn't you agree? He's not the best player to have ever played for us, Not even in the top 10-15!
ForeverUnited
As it stands NOW, it IS remarkably weakened. You have'nt signed nobody yet, so AS IT STANDS, you are weakened. Satisfied? But you missed the point. Without Tevez, you would'nt have won the title. I am actually glad for that, I could'nt have lived to see the scousers lift the title. And MUC, Wayne Rooney has'nt exactly been as influential as Ronnie , has he? Why, is he being played as a centre half? So youa re 'speculating' that Rooney will fill Ronnie's shoes? Well, good luck!
JT_daniel
I don't agree that we wouldn't have won the title. Tevez played well against spurs, but who is to say that it wasn't fergies team talk that galvanised everyone else? I'm sure there were other matches where we didn't get three points that we might have won if tevez had not played. Machedas goals were just as important but I wouldn't say we'll miss him if he doesn't make any appearances next season. Yes, tevez contributed. But its too much money to pay for a player who is hit and (mostly) miss
tuscan3000
it was about time, i dont think he is worth anywhere near how much MSI is asking for. sure his work rate is great but this season every other part of his game has been inconsistent and very average
Reddevils4ever89
As a CITY fan im not that worried if we get him or not. He is a great player and the type of player we at CITY need to build for what looks like a very bright future... if we dont get him we move on to other players of the same ability who want to wear the blue shirt with pride. PS A good balanced article from ZAE.
belfastblue
If he's leaving then it's been down to poor management of him. He is a top talent and Ferguson has messed up if he leaves. I actually don't want him to leave, err unless he comes to Man City! In which case roll on Derby Day!
Sindbad
if some of you feel the amount being asked by his management company is too much £25.5m, then what will you say about ronnie £30m+, berbatov £30m+, ferdinand £30m+, nani & anderson £30m+, those serbian kids £16m+, the list is endless veron, klerberson forlan etc. Man utd have been known to pay over the odds for at best good not great players. So why complain now over tevez's fee
cool_obed
Absolutely, these guys here talk no sense. Surely, surely Tevez made more impact than Nani and Anderson put together? You folk did not hesitate to sign them for 30 million, did you? Yet you say he's not worth the money! Get a life, fellows.
