Fergie Will Get The 'Ronaldo Money' To Buy Players

United have accepted a world record 80 million bid for Cristiano Ronaldo. The big question now is whether we can sign the necessary players to replace him, to create a balanced, strong team.

The Times believe Ferguson can do it: according to Oliver Kay, sources close to the Glazer family claims that the boss will be given all the money to reinvest it in players. Which would mean that in theory we can sign players of the calibre of Franck Ribery, Karim Benzema or David Silva.

The Times, however, also speculate that Fergie is reluctant to dip into the transfer market and that he does not wish to pay the obscenely high amounts required to prise away Benzema or Ribery. It looks like our best bet is Antonio Valencia and maybe one or two talented and unproven youngsters...

We'll see.

thing is. your squad is already extremley strong, and if you buy 4 players, its unlikley they'll all play at once, i would have rejected it.

With fergie suggesting that Welbeck should be in the world cup squad, it would suggest he has plans to play him more regularly next season; in which case buying in a top class striker would only hinder his progress. Perhaps a move for Michael Owen would be a good solution. Free transfer and injured most of the season, but almost guaranteed to score when he does play. Hopefully he'll put up the money for Ashley Young and a DM to replace the injured hargreaves. After that see how pre-season goes before bringing in a striker.

I think Fergie has been planning this for a bit (rumours are it was all agreed last summer) so we will be well prepared.

80 mil is a lot of money – hope we don’t buy Ribery as he isn’t worth the money Bayern are asking – neither was Ronaldo or Kaka worth the money that was paid, its Real Madrid gone mad and I hope we don’t jump on the crazy train with them. Alexis Sanchez would be a great buy, would also love to see Essien at old Trafford. I think we need an interim striker until we can finally assess whether Berbatov is going to work out. RVN anyone?

I'm sure we'd all love to see essien, but we've got little chance of that happening. Yaya toure could be a decent buy if he was available at the right price. Alexis Sanchez does look good, but if we could get Ashley Young, I'd be really happy with that. For me, I'd rather deal with Eto'os ego than throw £40M+ at Lyon for Benzema, who has already made it clear that he wants to play in spain one day. Although, a bald headed, arrogant, frenchman wearing the number seven jersey would be a marketing dream!
