Forget Benzema, He'll Go To Spain

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas refused to rule out the sale of Karim Benzema even though the striker confirmed he wanted to stay. It's clear that OL wouldn't refuse a good enough bid for the Frenchman.

He's a very talented player, skilled, fast, lethal. Based on ability alone I would love to see him at Old Trafford. However, we cannot have high hopes about him. He stressed several times that his favourite league was La Liga and his dream club was Real Madrid.

Of course Real might not buy him: if Kaka and David Villa do indeed sign for them it's unlikely they'll go for Benzema as well. Barcelona, another potential buyer, look set to land Zlatan Ibrahimovic in exchange for Samuel Eto'o - that would rule them out as well.

However, Benzema is patient. If a transfer won't materialise this summer he is ready to wait and learn at Lyon. Therefore it would cost a huge, crazy sum to prise him away - therefore I don't think we'll bid for him. Next year he can go to Spain, his dream league.

you may say this... but there seems to be a slight shift, with players wanting to play in spain, rather than england recently. hopefully something just passing - however I am sure that if (god forbid) you do sell ronaldo, it could cause many more players to seriously consider La Liga as being superior to the premiership.
