Berba: It Was A Successful Season For Me

Not one United player was barraged with as much unwarranted criticism as Dimitar Berbatov since Darren Fletcher stepped up to the first team. The lanky Bulgarian is seen by many as the culprit in the Tevez saga and it's no secret that most fans would prefer the Argentinian who's got less quality but his workrate is better.

However, Berbatov himself is adamant that he's no flop and that he can aim for big things with United next season.

'I think the season has been successful for me,' he said.

'Next season we will be favourites in all competitions again. After all, United is the biggest team in the world.'

I also agree it was a fairly good season for Berba. People expected spectacular fireworks from our £30M player - but it wasn't him who paid this fee. He scored 14 goals in all competitions and was the second best provider in the Premier League with 10 assists. He can do a lot better, obviously and I think even he expects himself to be a lot better next season. I hope this will be the case because if he comes out of this shell he'll be able to justify his price tag.

It wasnt really though was it. Hed be a bargain if he cost 3.1m but he cost 31m + Campbell on loan. 31m!!!!!!!! He was clearly hurting @ Spurs going on strike etc im so glad he enjoyed his champions league experience on the bench in Rome.
