Sheringham: United Are The Favourites

Sheringham: United Are The Favourites

On the day of the Treble, we just cannot ignore the opinion of a certain Teddy Sheringham who happens to be the man who gave United hope in the 1999 European Cup Final. Ahead of tomorrow's showpiece against Barcelona, he gave his views on the teams.

"They`re two outstanding football teams but Manchester United perhaps just edge it in the defensive department, so you`d have to say they`re favourites," he told FourFourTwo.com.

"It seems like it should be quite an open game, but you never know with Sir Alex, he may try to quash Barcelona as much as they can."

That looks likely - Sir Alex surely prefers an ugly victory to an epic defeat...
