Busacca To Referee The Champions League Final

Busacca To Referee The Champions League Final

Swiss referee Massimo Busacca will be in charge of that little friendly between Barcelona and Manchester United on Wednesday. Needless to say, it will be his first Champions League final but he's by no means inexperienced.

He refereed last season's Barcelona v United semi-final first leg and did a good job: he awarded the obvious penalty for Milito's handball though he might be criticised for failing to blow for another when Ronaldo was upended by Milito (or Marquez, I'm not sure now) inside the box.

Also, he was in charge of our historic win at Porto, officiating with the minimum of fuss. He's liable to be a bit whistle-happy on occasions which will of course suit Barca on the whole but we can also take advantage of it by winning free-kicks around the box...

Whoever is the referee, I just hope he shows nerves of steel and doesn't succumb under any pressure.
