'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fergie Never Expected To Reach 18 Titles

It's not the first time this season that Sir Alex confirms that equalling Liverpool's haul of 18 titles actually mean little to him. Well, most United fans wouldn't agree with him on that score but we'll let him get away with it this time.

What's new this time is him admitting that he never expected to do it when we won the first after a long, long wait.

'I never even thought about moving level with Liverpool,' he said.

'My first intention was to win one and break the stranglehold Liverpool had on the title.

'You don't think about how it would open the door in terms of what we see now. The big challenge was that first one.'


Still, it's none too shabby that we've won another 9 since then and are closing in on the 10th, eh? Hoping for a grand coronation tomorrow and then a summer of rubbing it in for the Scousers!

I think, Merlin it all depends on the Champions League. If he wins that, it'll be his third. Then it could go either way - he could leave on an absolute high, or stay on to get the most from the fantastic team he's built. Only Fergie knows, and only Fergie will decide, when he will go and that's the best way.
