The Liverpool Delusion Infected Skrtel
Another unfortunate victim of the dreadful illness commonly known as 'The Liverpool Delusion'. The symptoms include exaggerated belief in their own quality, misplaced optimism in next year and and an unhealthy obsession with 'history'.
The victim is Martin Skrtel who, despite being 6 points behind United in the title race, still cannot accept that we are the better side.
"I think we`ve been the best side in the country for the last few months, definitely.'
Oh dear. It might even be fatal. Dear Martin, Manchester United won 18 out of their last 20 league games while landing the Carling Cup, marching to the FA Cup semi-final and into the Champions League final.
We're better, get over it, there's always next year you know. And anyway, admitting you've got a problem is the first step towards recovery.

To be fair, in terms of performances, Liverpool have done quite well. Also although the results have been brilliant, CONSISTENTLY (we've had brilliant moments/halves/games) we haven't been as good as we've been in previous seasons (scored less and conceded more than last season). However that's only good for us, since we've had to play loads more games than our rivals (Carling Cup, Club World Cup, Super Cup) and cope with nearly always having games in hand, and not played as well as we can and YET we are still 6 points clear of our nearest challengers. So what does that say either about us or everyone else?

I don't often come on here, and comment even less, but after seeing this I couldn't help myself. You ManU fans make me laugh, as in one breath you say things like (and if you look on VL you'll see examples): 'we've not even been at our best and when Liverpool are at their best, and playing the best, it's still not even good enough' kind of thing, but when one of our players dares to suggest that we've been the best team in the country over the last couple of months (which we have) it is then claimed that ManU have in fact been at their best! You're going to win the title, and I'll come back to congratulate you when you do, but it would make my year if you slipped up now and we still nipped in to win it!

Errrrr maybe Skertel`s comment was based on the fact that Livepool brushed Mana Utd aside with ease each time they played this season...i dunno ..justsa guess...
