Fletcher Won't Play In The CL Final

Sir Alex warned us all: it was unlikely that Fletcher's red card would be overturned by UEFA. Well, their disciplinary body upheld the ban of United's midfielder who will therefore miss the Champions League final, to be held in Rome on May 27.

UEFA stated there were no grounds for a reversal of the referee's decision - and for the same reason they dismissed Barcelona's appeals in the case of Daniel Alves and Eric Abidal. So, while our midfield will be incomplete Barca will have a very, very makeshift defence.

Fletch, you're only 25, you'll have a chance of featuring in a final!
