Thank You And Goodbye, Carlitos

Thank You And Goodbye, Carlitos

Carlos Tevez spoke of his disappointment about this season and of why he doesn't expect to remain a Manchester United player beyond the summer. It looks like a parting of the ways is inevitable.

'I am very sad about this but I guess what I'm saying is goodbye,' her told the News of the World.

'I don't think I'll be a United player next season. I've done everything I possibly can but they have never made me an offer or given me a contract.

'I have not been treated as a member of the family. The fans treat me like family but United have not signed me so they don't respect me as a footballer.'

Carlos, Carlos - what's all this drama good for? United, clearly, think you're not as good as your price tag suggests and won't splash the cash on a striker who scored 3 Premier League goals in 16 starts and 10 substitute appearances...

For all his magnificent attitude, which we'll sorely miss, Dimitar Berbatov and Wayne Rooney both attempted more tackles, both made more successful tackles and both claimed more successful interceptions. On average, too, so not only because they played more games...

We'll miss your effort, your attitude, your honesty, Carlitos. It is true we respect you, even like you but with all the good will in the world I cannot say anyting else that in terms of quality you are obviously behind Rooney, Ronaldo and Berbatov. And for the Ł30m quoted we can sign a better striker...

I am now resigned to losing Tevez and my only plea to him is this: I know he wants to stay in the UK but please, don't go to Liverpool. That would immediately destroy your standing with the fans. With any other team, you'll get a standing ovation when you'll step out at Old Trafford but in the shirt of Liverpool you'll be treated as the worst traitor ever. Look up 'Gabriel Heinze', if you don't understand.

I don't know what others have to say on this topic but for me u have been a fantastic servant for the club, with the heart of a lion who has and will always give his best,it will be our loss if we can't sign you up.

His ability to score crucial goals and his attitude on the field was fantastic, fortunately we do have players similar to him who have the character, togetherness but adding more of that wouldn't hurt us in any way but yes,the price tag is something I completely agree on,its just too much, half of that and I would say yes.I still hope both the parties can find a middle ground. It would be great for utd as well as tevez.

I too agree that the price is the biggest reason for not signing him. But even if they offered him to us for £5M we couldn't offer him first team football, because he isn't as good as Berba, Rooney or Ronaldo. We need a striker who will play on the shoulder, stretch the back line and create space for those three to operate in - Carlos Tevez is not that striker. He misses too many chances and gives the ball away more often than is forgivable. But I still like him for his determination. If he went anywhere else, I would understand. But I just know that he is going to Liverpool and I will only be able to hate him forever, when he does.

very very sad.. he doesn't fit into the scheme of a game. we needed target man like Fernando Torres or Huntellaar.. But neither Berbatov does, i don't believe that Berba could emerge useful for us. i never rated him, he is not the striker who United wanted. On the field he plays as a second striker not target man.. Also he is not as good in a air, he lacks pace which always became problem during fast counter-attacks, his lazy attitute makes me mad.. Even Macheda did better at Middlesbrough.. I hope he would be sold and we could buy such a player like Benzema, Edin Dzeko or Ibisevic.. Wellbeck, Macheda and Fraizer could be decent reinforcement for our attacking force..

He is a great player and I just don't hope he end up at city! They don't deserve him! I would welcome him at Chelsea tough :)

nice guy, great energy and enthusiasm, but his first touch his attrocious. he's like the complete opposite to berbatov, he has scored alot of important goals but he's just not dependable, man utd need a world class goal scorer. his price tag is outrageous and i cant help feel that his loan deal has been exploited for a cheap backup striker. he's good just not good enough in my opinion.

I wouldn't mind if he went to chelsea, he'd work hard and be well paid. If he suddenly turned into an amazing striker, I could stomach him scoring for them. If he turned into an amazing player at liverpool though, we'd never hear the end of it. In fact, if he turned into an average player he'd still be better than Kuyt or Babel so we would never hear the end of it, no matter what!

:( Really really want to keep Tevez. Not likely, I know, but still hoping it might just get sorted.
