Fergie Rooting For Giggs

Sir Alex Ferguson is among those who want to see Ryan Giggs winning the PFA Player of the Year award. Giggsy made the shortlist and the winner will be announced on Sunday.

'I hope Ryan gets the PFA award,' said Sir Alex.

'He has played 30 games this season and the way we use squads nowadays, no-one plays in every game.

'Hopefully he is rewarded for his contribution to the game. He thoroughly deserves it.'

His contribution to the game deserves any award - but not a Player of the Season award, especially when he played less games than ever before in the league. I just don't think he should get it just because he's Ryan Giggs. He's a great ambassador of the game, a true model professional who is laden with medals. He simply doesn't need this one...

And if we're honest, Michael Carrick, Wayne Rooney and Nemanja Vidic all performed more consistently well this season than Ryan Giggs. An 11th league medal would be a much more fitting tribute to his greatness!

As I have stated before, for me its vidic all the way.I can understand why Sir Alex would want want him to get the award,he has contributed a lot not only on the pitch but also when he has not played he may have passed on so much knowledge to the younger ones but ofcourse as I stated before vidic has been the most consistent of all and truely deserves it.

well i agree that it shouldn't be giggs...we all love him but this year he hasn't been consistently good like vidic, vds, rooney i think the winner should be one of them for sure.....no one else has performed as consistently as them in the league in my view...
