'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Rio's All Right

It was a tad alarming to see Rio Ferdinand being left out of the team against Portsmouth as he's been struggling with back and groin injuries for a while now. However, Fergie insists that this time everything is all right.

'It was just about tiredness, and with Jonny Evans being such a good performer, it's easy to bring him in when required.'

And he dealt with everything quite comfortably, hopefully signalling a return to his winter form. As for Rio, he's expected to start against Spurs on Saturday - and we'll need him because they are certain to offer more in attack than Portsmouth.
