Moyes Says They Have A Chance - He's Right

Everton manager David Moyes believes his side have a chance of upsetting the odds in tomorrow's FA Cup semi-final against Manchester United.

'Our recent games against United have been tight, we have only lost by a late penalty and drawn a couple.

'But the way Manchester United have been playing recently gives teams hope they can get something from games against them. That is why we are going into this semi-final with great confidence.

'But even though they may not be at their best, they always seem to win matches, they keep doing it regardless of how they are playing.

'These games are normal for them, but not for us. But we believe we are playing well and scoring goals.

'There is a real belief after victories against top-class sides to get this far, why can we not do the same to Manchester United?'

Well, what can I say? He's quite right in everything he says, showing he's one of the most sensible managers out there. Everton are a compact team with a well-organised defence and they are very, very good at set-pieces. Meanwhile, our attack this season is far from brilliant so they must be in with a relatively good chance - especially if they manage to score first.

Rumours say that Rio Ferdinand won't play, in order to preserve him for the still more important league games which is another boost for Everton's hopes.

Still, Fergie never lost an FA Cup semi-final...

I can't call this game. I think someone will win it outright, but I'm really not sure who. Worryingly though, The Times reports that Rooney is ruled out of the Everton FA Cup game with the foot injury he suffered against Porto. It did look painful, and he was uncomfortably hobbling through at one point, but he appeared to run it off, and in an interview he says it's fine. Unless it's really serious, I can't see Rooney not demanding to play. Anyone know any more?
