Ruud Laughs Off United Stay

When facing the media this week, history maker Ruud van Nistelrooy laughed when it was suggested by the press there could be many more goals to come in a Man Utd shirt.

While it could not be constituted as an 'I am leaving' message, it did represent a clear rejection of an opportunity to commit his long-term future to Old Trafford. But, then again, is he in a position to say what will (or will not happen) during the summer?

Several big clubs are looking at his plight, and offers are sure to arrive at Old Trafford in the summer. Who is to say if the club will listen?

The 29-year-old is hoping for a starting spot against Arsenal next weekend, but that is out of his hands.

Ruud van Nistelrooy: 'When I am in this position, all I can do is go on and get goals.

'I always try to do that, whether I am on the pitch for one minute or 90. I do my best and if a chance pops up, I have to be there.

'It is nice when it all works out and to reach 150 goals for the club by scoring two winners in a week just makes me even more proud.

'I signed for United less than five years ago, so to have scored 150 already is more than I could ever have dreamed of.'
