United Made History - AGAIN

United Made History - AGAIN

Manchester United are through to the semi-finals of the Champions League after doing what seemed close to impossible: won at Estadio Dragao, home of FC Porto.

Truth be told, it wasn't vintage United. Or it was: vintage United 2009. A few moments of true brilliance but for most of the game it was a dogged, well-organised defending, combined with the intention of playing possession football which we did quite well for 70 minutes.

Tactics were strange - but more about them later. Now we should focus on the fact that despite all the problems, injuries, poor form, United are top of the league, in the semi-final of the Champions League and the FA Cup and already have two trophies in the bag. Also we are the first British club ever to achieve a win at Porto. That is quite a result!

Oh, and we quite possibly produced the biggest goal of the Champions League season. Even Ronaldo hardly believed that shot...

Reminded me so much of Barcelona at home last season. Brilliant goal, brilliant defensive display by every player - equaliser would take opposition through but ultimately fairly comfortable. Exceptional goal from Ronaldo; Rooney tremendously hard working and brilliant down the wing; hopefully will lift us for the rest of the season.
