Fletcher's Absence Is A Huge Blow

Fletcher's Absence Is A Huge Blow

Darren Fletcher is out of tonight's game at Porto which is as grievous as it can get. Even though Rio Ferdinand, Anderson and Rafael are all fit, we'll dearly miss Darren Fletcher.

His hamstring injury robs us of the only player who offers the qualities of Owen Hargreaves who's been desperately missed throughout the campaign. In his absence, the midfield will be even more lightweight than usual...

Good news is that Anderson is fit and I think he's a shoo-in to start against his old club. Along with Carrick they will offer protection to the defence and support to the attacking three of Rooney, Giggs and Ronaldo while Berbatov will play the lone striker role.

It is of course my opinion only as we may never know how Fergie's going to approach a given game. But I feel that the tactics of the San Siro will serve us well and that's what he'll choose with Rooney instead of Park and unfortunately Anderson instead of Fletcher.

But there is hope, especially as finally we'll have a decent enough defence again.

Hope. Not expectation, true, but we can do this. Remember Barcelona game? Admittedly we were in better form, but without Vidic and Rooney we got through to the final. And they were a bigger loss than Fletcher. And remember, we react well to slumps - the Roma 7-1 came after two straight defeats. TRUST

yes,we lost fletch and I was concerned but what a performance by anderson, totally ran the show.He showed form of last seasonand I just hope from now on he continues to get better because he has it in him and we really have to see these young stars rising up and prove their worth. As we get each player back in form,it bodes well for the future.

I just say a big thank you to god because I seriously thought we might end up losing and deep down I had prepared my self for that but because of our team's wonderful workrate, hardwork and by God's grace we won.
