'If It's Football, It's Vital'

It's Good That Macheda Hasn't Joined Up With Italy

I don't know how it feels like to score a winning goal for Manchester United in the Premier League at a crucial time at the age of 17 but it sure can't be bad and that's what Federico Macheda has experienced today. The young Italian gave United new hope and celebrated with enthusiasm.

"This is the best day of my life and one I have always dreamed of. I really enjoyed it."

"I ran towards my family. They deserve it as much as me and they are very proud.

"It`s a great day but my life is still the same as before. I want to keep going as I have been doing and just enjoy my football.

'I was surprised to be on the bench, to be honest. I was asked yesterday to go to Italy and join up with the national team but Sir Alex said I had to stay here because I might be on the bench. It was then I knew I had a chance.'

Well then we're lucky - had he wasted his time at the Italian youth team rather than scoring a delightful winner we would have had a much more miserable afternoon...

This may not be true but I just feel that it was destined for him,it was written in his stars.Seriously,I mean this guy was all ready to join the Italians but was asked by Sir Alex to sit on the bench, berbatov's injury, rooney's suspension, the stage was set for 'KIKO'

I took a keen interest in this story. Always a fan of up and coming youngsters...unless they play for Chelscum. Good luck to the lad!
