'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Alan Hansen On Man Utd v Aston Villa

Alan Hansen, pundit for the New Football Pools says Manchester United face a tough game this weekend with Aston Villa the visitors to Old Trafford.

'Sir Alex`s side face a tough game of their own this weekend with Aston Villa coming to Old Trafford. Villa may be in free-fall after a poor run but Martin O`Neill will be hoping that the international break will have freshened up his young side for a final push for a Champions League place.'

'On top of their recent slump in form, Villa also have an appalling 26-game league record without a win against Manchester United to contend with. They haven`t managed to beat United since August 1995 when a certain someone mentioned something about the fact you can`t win anything with kids which I have never been allowed to forget.'

Adding, 'If Villa can frustrate United then who knows what could happen in that one. One thing`s for certain, Sir Alex is sure to put out his best eleven available for this one to get his team back on track. Recent criticism of his rotation policy has surprised me to be honest as he has done exceptionally well this season in terms of getting results despite numerous injuries and remain top of the division so he hasn`t done too badly has he?'

Big game for both teams, I'd put money on Man Utd despite being a Villa fan but we can but hope, we have to end this run one day, just not altogether sure Sunday will be THE day!

Seen as we dealt you a cruel blow at the Cottage, I am guessing you guys will be hoping we show a similar amount of resilience and desire against the Scousers this weekend??

Yes please, KBFulham! Though it's still in our hands, a point or more would be welcome.

KBFulham, I don't think I'd ever be so happy if you got a point (or dare I hope, more). I know we have to do our job at Villa, but a helping hand would be much appreciated and the result against us forgotten :) after Liverpool it wasn't nearly so bad anyway - i was sort of resigned to it. But if you can get something - anything- out of the game today, maybe just maybe the smile will be back :)
