Rio Should Rest Instead Of Playing

I read the news that Rio Ferdinand did some light training this morning with the England squad and I can't say I'm terribly pleased. He might play against Ukraine which might do wonders for his confidence but on the other hand he might aggravate his injury at a crucial time.

With Villa coming on Sunday we need everyone on board after two successive league defeats. Vidic is still suspended so if Rio's out as well we'll have great difficulty in fielding a complete defence against one of the better attacking sides.

So call me selfish but I'd rather Rio rested. England, with four victories in four qualifiers, can do without him at the moment; United cannot.
