Scheduling Of The Villa Fixture Is Outrageous

Once again, Sky rules: United will have to play Aston Villa on Sunday, April 5 despite having a Champions League fixture only two days later.

It was assumed - the official website of the club noted it as well - that should United be involved on Tuesday the Villa game will be moved back to Saturday. However, the Premier League have indicated that the game will go ahead as planned.

I'm surprised it's kept so quiet: not a word about it from Fergie who could once again show that he's got plenty of reason to complain about fixtures. This is an outrage, forcing us to play 48 hours before a Champions League clash...

In Italy or Spain, Champions League participants always play on Saturday on the preceding weekend. It's only England where the best team of the country is milked so shamelessly by a greedy TV company where, it seems, the executives are not interested in the health of the players...

They saw that you basically got a bye in the champions league so whats the point in moving it? You'd beat Porto if your players had to run a marathon on the morning of the game. I agree it shouldnt happen but it does happen when youre competing for several trophies, and not just to United.

United fan in "whinge" shock. How come you havnt had a go at any refs? Every time United dont get 3 points its down to the refs, or the time of the kick off, or the day the game was played on. Or the weather. I reckon you should ask your sports science department to find out how many whiskeys old red nose has downed since we hammered you 4-1 at Old Toilet.

its the price you pay for success mate! if you want this success, which means alot of games in the final months, the fixtures will stack up heavy and fast towards the end of the season wont they. would you rather this - the success - was not the case?
thought not...

Ah yes, yoonited reverting to typical behaviour - your season begins to implode and of course it's not your fault - it's those nasty people at Sky sports who have quite clearly rigged the fixtures to deny United there "deserved" glory. Quite pathetic, but yoonited fans just don't get it do you?

Oh, and I forgot to mention that the club was at fault as well - they should have pressed for it to be brought forward to Saturday. On the birght side: one more day to recover from the international fixtures...

Tosswink - it's a united forum. Did you expect anyone to talk anything other than a whole load of crap? With the possible exception of other teams' fans of course! ;0

Tosswink is saying that all you lot(none man utd fans) talk a whole lot of crap...you lot would say the same thing if it happened to your team...so why can't we express our disdain at the turn out of events...why do you feel that you have to mock, its as if you think it will have an effect..... Zae is right tho that the club is at fault, and i really hope that fatigue won't hurt us against porto...they're a team trying to prove they're big, and we missed badly when fatigued before....so lets pray for a good result

I could be wrong but hasn't the influx of sky's money coincided with United's success and trophies over the years??

I do find it ironic that people are whining about us whining all the time when i haven't read anything but calls to support the team from my fellow members. Still, it's all down to perspective isn't it?

Dear ibrahiy, tosswink et al, kindly read the Guardian Sports pages this morning, and then kindly ask the author of this ill informed whinge to apologise for getting his facts wrong. Contrary to the fixture computers "having it in" for yoonited, it would now appear that none other than fergisun himself has chosen to schedule the match 2 days before playing Porto. So stop panicking girls!

He has re-prioritised the league as he thinks that Porto will be easy... Me thinks someone is getting very worried indeed...
