SAF The Linguist: Roo Should Have Used 'Dislike'

SAF The Linguist: Roo Should Have Used 'Dislike'

Sir Alex understands Wayne Rooney's entirely understandable comments but he reckons the stiker's choice of word is an unfortunate one. He provided some linguistic advice to young Wayne.

'Hate is an easy word to say, easier than dislike,' he said.

'Maybe it is not the right word, but Wayne has had plenty of stick from Liverpool fans over the years, so it is understandable.

'He supported Everton as a kid and the rivalry between them and Liverpool is pretty ferocious now. Since then he has come to Manchester United and he wants to win. It is nothing out of the ordinary really.'

That's it, really. Much more important thing is the team selection, for instance. More of that later.
