Anderson Is Recovering As Expected

Anderson Is Recovering As Expected

Anderson is making good progress following the ankle injury sustained in the closing minutes of the Carling Cup semi-final second leg against Derby at Old Trafford. Assistant manager Mike Phelan did not set an exact date for his return but he implied it would be soon enough.

'Anderson is coming along slowly,' he revealed.

'He is working with the medical team at the moment and will start on the conditioning side next week.

'He is making the progress that we expect him to make, it is just a question of how quickly that comes on once he gets out onto the training pitch.

'We haven't put a timescale on it because he is working more inside than out. Once we get him onto the grass we will find out how long.''

However, he's unlikely to be available for the visit to the San Siro in one and a half week's time.
