'If It's Football, It's Vital'

No Risks With Rooney And Evra

Both Wayne Rooney and Patrice Evra had little setbacks in training, according to Sir Alex Ferguson and that's why, contrary to pre-match reports, they weren't even on the bench at Upton Park.

United still collected all three points with a majestic Ryan Giggs goal and the pair can look forward to another week of training before the FA Cup fifth round tie at Derby County.

"They had little setbacks in training," Fergie told MUTV. "They didn`t do a lot last week, which was partly to do with the weather. They needed another three or four days` training before we could start considering them.

"I think the important thing about having injuries with the squad we`ve got, you don`t take chances. It proves fatal. We weren`t prepared to take a chance with them."

Well, I won't complain if they soon return and the rest of their season will be injury-free... God knows we need them both!
