No, Liverpool Are Not Nervous - Really!

'I was surprised by what has been said, but maybe they [Manchester United] are nervous because we are at the top of the table.'

The words of Rafa 'Genius' Benitez before Liverpool's visit to Stoke, in response to Fergie's little jibe about the Scousers' nerves. Liverpool fans told us it was all brilliant and their team would be galvanised by it...

Well, since then they've failed to win a single league game, playing terribly and allowed us to overtake them at the top of the table. The nervous Champions just broke the record for most consecutive clean sheets - imagine if our nerves weren't shot because of the immense threat of the Rafalution?

But Fergie's still wrong. Pundits, many of them, will say that pressure and nerves got to Liverpool but it's not about that. Quite simply, the dippers are not good enough and have now run out of luck it seems. It is boring but our main challengers are, once again, Chelsea.

So Liverpool are not nervous - they are simply not good enough. And they proved that, again, tonight at Wigan.

Aamir - Its not an obsession, its just an absolute delight picking apart Rafa and his words! When Fergie said that Liverpool couldn't handle the pressure at the top, Rafa got all defensive. Funny thing was....SAF was RIGHT! It might be boring if Chelsea and us become the only two legitimate title challengers but I'd prefer ANY team over Liverpool!

FU - You know what, Rafa was right too. Mr Ferguson gets an easy ride. As i keep saying, wait until a decision goes against him for evidence. You can all be as arrogant as you want, nothing is won yet. If you slip up form here, you will never live it down - ever.
