'If It's Football, It's Vital'

'Mish-Mash' Back Four Can Make History

Chelsea won the league in 2005 with record points, record number of clean sheets and conceding only 15 goals. They also went 10 games in a row without conceding once which hasn't been bettered since. United, having equalled it at Bolton, now have a chance to break the record.

How ironic is it, then, that we have only three recognised first-team defenders available for the trip? It looks like that fate's eager to preserve Chelsea's record and I must admit that the Fletcher, Gary Neville, Vidic, O'Shea back four does not look record-breaking on paper...

Oh well. If we keep another clean sheet, then fantastic, if not but we win the game there's no problem. Whatever happens, our defence is the main reason that we are on top now, the defence which's been criticised for its performances until November. Since then it's been flawless and you have to give credit to everyone who featured during that run.

.S.: by the way, I hope old 'Arry Redknapp won't mind me stealing his phrase 'mish-mash' in the headline.
