Quadruple Talk Is Way Too Early
I should have expected it but still caught me unawares. The press - and John O'Shea - started to talk about United winning the Quadruple this season and now will refer to every game we play as 'another obstacle in the way of the Quadruple bid'.
A quadruple is impossible and we won't win it. Talking about it in January is mad as we haven't won anything yet: still 16 teams compete for the European Cup, and 16 teams will be alive in the FA Cup when the fourth round is concluded. We haven't won the Carling Cup yet and we are first in the league only by the virtue of goal difference.
So, no quadruple talk, all right? I'm superstitious.
