Giggs To Cardiff City? Can You Imagine That?

Ryan Giggs refused to rule out that he would spend one last season at Cardiff City, his hometown club. The veteran Welshman's United contract expires in the summer and the club has made no contact yet which led to the speculation of Giggs winding down at Ninian Park.

Ryan, 35 last November, has given a stellar display against Chelsea on Sunday but has provided enough evidence this season that proves the end is approaching. However, I always thought he would retire when he's no longer good enough for United.

He could do a great job at Cardiff, his guile and intelligence would make a real difference in the Championship even though he could not keep up with the pace. But.. sorry, it's just weird. Ryan Giggs running around and spraying majestic passes in ANOTHER CLUB'S SHIRT? After almost 800 appearances for only one club, Manchester United? (He's at 781 now and I guess he won't make 800 this season).

If he wants it, if he would enjoy this challenge then of course he should do it (if and only if Fergie doesn't want him next season) but still, it'd very, very weird for me. Heck, he might even play at Old Trafford in the colours of the VISITING club.

Even the idea of Scholes playing for Oldham is not as strange as this one - though we're talking about very fine margins here...
