'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Tevez Set To Start, Edwin Out, We Might See Fabio

Carlos Tevez is likely to start in tonight's Carling Cup semi-final first leg at Derby County after returning from Argentina. The rumours about his contract grow stronger but he claims that he's concentrating on his football. Best chance to prove it.

Edwin van der Sar insisted that he wouldn't mind being left out tonight as he knows full well that the team and the manager must focus on the priorities. With this he practically admitted that the Carling Cup isn't one of them but hey, who thought otherwise? Kuszczak is set to deputise for him.

Danny Welbeck impressed at Southampton, scoring the opener and generally being a real handful until his withdrawal with 30 minutes to go. Fergie later reasoned that he's still a young guy who's growing and is therefore tiring faster but that might not prevent him from handing the young lad another start. Berbatov and Rooney could do with some rest ahead of the Chelsea clash.

And there are some rumours flying around that perennially injured Fabio da Silva, supposedly even more talented than his brother, might get a chance tonight. Would love to see him in action, I admit.
