Rooney's Done Nothing Wrong

Rooney's Done Nothing Wrong

UEFA will study video evidence of Rooney's behaviour during the 2-2 draw against Aalborg on Wednesday night, particularly the incident when he stamped on Kasper Risgard.

The Danish player accused our second goal's scorer that he deliberately stamped on to his chest and stressed that this left big marks on his body.

Well, Rooney shouldn't be punished. If you actually watch the footage, you'll see that he was just stumbling in the midst of several players and accidentally stamped on the guy who was lying on the ground right there. If UEFA has any common sense... and that's where it falls down of course. Though I still hope that those in charge of disciplinary proceedings are more knowledgeable and intelligent than the president of the organisation... we'll see.

And anyway, the visitors' behaviour should also be noted: they clearly took the field with the intent of getting Rooney sent off. His marker provoked him all night, clearly hoping that Rooney's temper would get the better of him - and he was boiling all right but done nothing wrong, indeed, played very well.

Did you see the same footage the rest of the world saw? He'll get the ban he deserves and it sounds like your getting ready to throw your toys out when it happens

oh my goodness. I honestly thought it wasn't true that mancs thought that they were victimised by the FA/UEFA and that was just people giving reasons to hate them but it's actually true! You guys aren't given any worse treatment than anyone else! I haven't seen the footage and I don't care if he's guilty or not and the only reason I'm her is because your editor wrote a decent article on Gary Neville. How can you honestly think that you are victimised by the FA?? You're embarassments to football!
