Serbians Steal The Headlines These Days

I think I have already confessed how much I hate when a promising youngster is dubbed the 'new X.Y.'. I mean, there are new Messis out there, and the kid is only 21 yet!

The Serbian guy who is touted as the 'next Ryan Giggs' is also 21: Zoran Tosic is a Serbian left winger and we have allegedly struck a deal with his club Partizan Beograd and will receive the decision on his work permit by Friday. He is believed to be a huge talent but he's unaware of any deal.

'I don't know anything about it,' Tosic said.

'I heard about that on TV. My friends called me and told me to watch SOS Kanal and I was surprised.

'I really don't think about a transfer to United. We will talk about this in the future.'


He went on to add what a fantastic thing it would be to join United and all that. Well, he's obviously keen to play for us but can we believe that a deal has already been done but he's not aware of it? Unlikely, I'd say, or things work very, very strangely in Serbia...

United allegedly want to sign his teammate, teenager Adam Ljajic who impressed on his trial earlier this year. I have nothing against Serbian players - especially seeing how well the Vidic transfer worked out for us - so looking forward to more news about them.
