Fletcher Expects Something New From Gooners: Fight

Oh yes, the big one is coming. At the same time tomorrow Arsenal and United will be out there on the pitch, testing each other. And boy it will be a testing, says Darren Fletcher who believes the Gooners will finally find some spirit and spine.

'They will come out fighting. I am sure they will have been hurt by the criticism they have had with certain teams saying this and that.'

'They will have read all the comments, so they will be coming out to show they are not all just about passing and flair.

'Arsenal have top quality players and I am sure they will be hurting. But criticism like that will only spur them on.'

Thing is, I don't know. I mean that when we were leading the Premier League throughout the 2006/07 season there was much talk about the position of pursuers being uncharted territory for Chelsea.

Well, media criticism is quite uncharted territory for Arsenal as they are usually immune to it, on the account that they play aesthetically perfect football (whatever that means). So it will be definitely interesting how they react to it: after all, Wenger is clearly cracking under pressure now he's seemingly losing his infallibility in the eyes of the press.

I like Fletcher. He's got a great attitude.

Another bad result for you. Why the sudden fallibility in defense?
