'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Frustration For Fergie And Carrick

Our lapses in concentration this season is quite amazing - it seems that we have difficulties in picking ourselves up after the fantastic effort of last season.

Today against Hull we played brilliant attacking football but our defending left a lot to be desired and it ended in a 4-3 win. Fergie acknowledged the chances we created but still felt disappointed a bit.

'I feel a bit low. We should have won by 10 or 11 and we ended up scrambling for a victory.

'We might have been embarrassed at the end. Cristiano Ronaldo could have had five on his own and I don't know how many chances Dimitar Berbatov created.'

'I suppose the only thing to take out of it, apart from the win, is the fact we are creating so many opportunities for ourselves.'

Definitely. One of those plenty chances was taken by Michael Carrick but he wasn't too pleased either, despite his return to the starting eleven.

"Conceding three goals at home is very disappointing - we pride ourselves on defending well as a team," he told MUTV.

"We created so many chances and played some extremely good football. But we shot ourselves in the foot with a few errors and they took their chances.

"At 4-1 the game should be killed anyway, but we should have gone on from that and scored more. For it to end 4-3 was crazy."

Hull has been having a good run, its a mistake to take them for granted. Congrats on the victory.

Some of the other teams might be fancing their chances playing the big 4 this year. Still early season.

Obviously........BUT for three straight games now, we've been dire in the second half! This can't go on for long! Fergie has to talk some sense into them and fast!
